Sometimes, you love a place so much, that you have to take it with you when you leave. Aldea Hostel is definitely that kind of place. We haven´t finished the design work on the Aldea tattoo just yet though, so for now, we will make do with this... the Aldea T Shirt. 

Just think about it. All of your friends will be jealous. Your parents will want to give you things, because they will be so happy with your choice. People are going to bow down at your feet on the streets. That is the sway of Aldea Hostel. Because here, in San Jose, es la pura vida. Life is good. So take it with you, wherever you go. Aldea offers a work-exchange program for interested volunteers. In exchange for six hours or light work per day, four days out of the week, you receive free accommodation. MAKE OUR OUTDOOR KITCHEN SMELL GREAT WITH DELICIOUS FOOD

Come visit our backpackers hearth... where you, travelling busy bees can come buzz about our outdoor kitchen making delicious meals for our staff while they clean your rooms and check emails.. hehe, jaja! In earnest, This past week we hosted a delicious dinner, a success of curried plantains and lentils, pssst, thank you los gemelos Mexicanos Juan & Manuel! The Aldea  kitchen is spacious and equiped with all the hardware needed to feed your belly and your loved fellow globe tappers too.

This coming week we've loosley deemed tropical asian cuisine week, stop by and we can watch you cook;). You will need fresh organic produce to cook with so we'd like to spread the word about an open air market in Escazu, in front of Escuela Venezuela, where farmers from around San Jose meet to sell their lot. It is an awesome way to spend your saturday mornings, savory, satisfying food is prepared on spot by some farmers and their families, celebrating the beautiful things of Costa Rican soil.

San Jose has it all! Pura vida and hungry hearts.

Life is good when you can wake up to excellent weather, good people, and the occasional strong drink on a beautiful afternoon. That is a way of life here at Aldea Hostel where we are constantly improving our lovely hostel and expanding the services we offer.

San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica is an excellent city both to explore and to use as a base for exploring the country and its neighboring countries at large. We have accommodated travelers from all over the world and meet new people from far away lands every single day. These encounters have led to long lasting friendships, whirlwind romances, and plenty of long nights spent in raucous debates fueled by our supply of local beer Imperial. We have many events planned for the near future as well and we will also be introducing new services to our ever growing hostel.

With room for 30 people for our dormitories, and a maximum capacity of 32 within our private rooms – we have a range of options to suit your particular requirements. Our bilingual staff are more than attentive to your every needs and can help organize transportation such as airport pickups or shuttles, provide information about San Jose and surrounding Costa Rica, organize and reserve tours, anything you needed.

The local Ticos already know this, but we wanted to let you in on this little sports tip as well - Aldea Hostel is super close to the National Stadium here in San Jose. If you want to enjoy the thrill of a live soccer match, and the local passion for the game, on your travels through Costa Rica, Aldea is the perfect spot for you to lay your head after a game. If you aren’t motivated enough to leave the hostel we also have two flat screen plasma televions, one in the bar and one in the common area, so you can enjoy the game here with a couple of beers or even over a game of pool.
